MYOB ceasing support for older server environments.
What does this mean?
MYOB are ceasing testing of their products, released after December 2017, on older server environments.
- Server 2008 R2
- Small Business Server (SBS) 2011
It is encouraged that all practices install the latest release of MYOB as it provides new features and resolutions to issues.
To stay up to date with the latest supported software, businesses need to make sure their IT and Server technology is upgraded before the cease date. This will allow you to take advantage of the new MYOB updates when they release.
For those not able to upgrade right away, it is recommended to hold off installing MYOB upgrades until you update to supported technologies. However, this means you could miss out on the latest features if they are not supported on your older systems.
Unfortunately, those that wish to install the latest version of MYOB on older technologies, have no guarantee if the software will work correctly. Installing upgrades onto untested technologies introduces risk to your business as MYOB will not escalate issues for investigation.
For businesses to avoid this risk, best practices should be followed, using the supported technologies.
